What I Think Of: Galaxy Quest (1999)
Never Give Up. Never Surrender. I love this homage to the Star Trek franchise, and it's the only starring vehicle that I actually don't mind Tim Allen in. Seriously, the guy isn't funny. Grunting all the time- how is that comedy? What makes this film work so well is that you don't have to be a Star Trek fan or a sc-fi fan to enjoy it- hell Penny loves this film which still shocks me. Galaxy Quest plays up the familiar tropes of Greek drama's, and while an homage, it still stands on its own as a great film. It's fun and will genuinly have you cheering at the end screaming, "Never Give Up. Never Surrender."
